Gasconade County E-911 Board Announces Hiring of New 911 Director
Gasconade County, MO – The Gasconade County E-911 Board of Directors, is proud to announce the hiring of Michael Lockhart as the new 911 Director for Gasconade County 911. Lockhart brings with him over a decade of experience in emergency communications and public safety leadership.
Lockhart began his career in public safety at the age of 16 as a member of the Leasburg Volunteer Fire Department. In 2011, he accepted a part-time telecommunicator position with Crawford County E-911. Over the following years, he served in nearly every position within a 911 center, eventually taking on the role of Director. His wide-ranging experience has given him a deep understanding of emergency operations and team leadership.
In 2019, Lockhart stepped down from his director role to seek a better work-life balance and joined Gasconade County 911 as a telecommunicator. During his time with the agency, he served as a trainer for new hires and as a dispatch supervisor during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He briefly stepped away from public safety in 2023 to pursue an opportunity as an office manager at a law firm, where he further developed his administrative and organizational skills. Now, Lockhart is excited and ready to return to the field he’s passionate about in this new leadership role.

“I am honored to accept the role of 911 Director at Gasconade County 911 and lead this great organization that has been constructed by the board and Lisa Thacker,” said Lockhart. “My focus will be on continuing to improve the services provided by Gasconade County 911 to our citizens, responders, and visitors.”
The Board looks forward to continued growth and success under Lockhart’s leadership.
