About Us
A few interesting facts about us:
911 was established in Gasconade County in 1995
Prior to 911 citizens had to dial a 7 digit phone number to reach emergency services.
We are an enhanced 911 system (E-911)
E-911 means that there is a part of the 911 system that automatically ties a location to the call-whether it’s a specific address or coordinates. When you call 911 this allows your location to show on our 911 mapping software.
We dispatch for 7 Law Enforcement Agencies, 2 EMS Agencies, and 4 Fire Department
- Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office, Owensville Police, Rosebud Police, Gasconade Police, Bland Police, Hermann Police and Gerald Police.
- Owensville EMS, Hermann EMS
- Bland Fire, Morrison Fire, Owensville Fire, Hermann Fire
We are staffed 24/7
There are 2-3 fully trained 911 Operators on at ALL times.
911 Operator Training
Our 911 Operators (or Emergency Telecommunication Officers, ETO’s for short, as they are also known) are highly trained individuals. Being a 911 Operator requires ETO’s to be part fire fighter, part law enforcement officer, and part emergency medical technician. They are required to maintain several certifications through training refreshers/courses as well as learn new systems as technology grows and improves.
